Dr.Zakir Husain Khan (February 8, 1897 to May 3, 1969) was an Indian economist and politician, who had served as the third president of India, from May 13, 1967 until his death on May 3, 1969.
Dr.Zakir Husain served as Governor of Bihar from 1957 to 1962, and also served as Vice President of India from 1962 to 1967. He was the co-founder of Jamia Milia Islamia and has served as its deputy principal since 1928. In 1963, he was awarded the highest civilian honor in India Bharat Ratna . and was the first Muslim President of India and the first Indian President to die in office.
